Asona delivers innovative acoustic solutions to complex interior spaces and they don’t come more complex than sound & recording studios. For Red Bull’s Auckland Studio, designed by Marshal Day Acoustic Consultants, customised Fabwall 100 Cloud panels were suspended in the live rooms and above the mixing desk. Walls were treated with 150mm thick broad band / low frequency panel absorbers in a Snaptex stretched fabric finish. Asona’s Ridgline batten wall system with concealed fixings was used on the long wall of one live room for sound diffusion and as a decorative feature.
Asona designed and installed bespoke corner bass traps to control low frequency noise build up in room corners, into Hobsonville Point School’s music studios including evenly spaced Fabwall 40 wall panels together with Asona’s Avant Theatre Black ceiling system used because of the systems high sound absorption rating to control back ground noise and reverberation, aW 0.95; NRC 0.90.
In the case of Digital Post Sound Studios, sound engineers choose Asona’s Quad linear sound diffuser system to control & enhance musical tone quality in the mixing room. Quad™ is designed to provide effective diffusion across the largest range of frequencies. A series of 4 depth wells based on a quadratic sequence and separated by thin dividers are set out in repetition to form a base shape that acts as a reflection phase grating.
