To control unwanted noise reverberation in Auckland’s new art gallery entrance atrium, FJMT + Archimedia Architects selected Asona’s Fabwall™ and Snaptex acoustic wall panels and Designpanel M2F micro perforated plasterboard ceiling lining. This was a challenging brief that required a bespoke solution.
Within the stone wall slots custom Fabwall panels and upholstered speaker units were manufactured and wrapped in a speciality knit fabric to provide a uniform acoustic finish.
The rear wall including concealed service doors were treated with high density Fabwall 40 absorber panels and covered with a stretched Knoll Annex W1360/4 fabric using Asona’s hinged Snaptex framing system.
For the wall panels, Asona provided a ‘supply and install’ package and South Auckland Fibrous Plaster installed Designpanel M2F perforated plasterboard ceilings.
